Job Description

Ariens Company is seeking a Journeyworker Machinist that operates machining centers while following set standards.

DAY TO DAY...

• Safe operations of machine and tools, following procedures and protocol
• Live and promote the Ariens Core Values and 15 Principles
• Ability to perform all Machining Technician duties and responsibilities
• Identify and troubleshoot technical problems involving multiple variables in non-standardized situations
• Develop and edit CNC programs to optimize part quality and efficiency on computer-controlled machines
• Independently improves, selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials in machine tools
• Design, fabricate and install fixtures, tooling and experimental parts to meet engineering and production needs including process trials
• Assist and train Machine Operators, Machining Technicians and Machinists
• Mentor apprentices as neede
  
  

Qualifications...

• Completion of a State Licensed Journeyworker Apprenticeship Program required
• A minimum of 2 years industry experience and/or training preferred
• Understand and apply principles of GD&T in machining processes
• Ability to program and operate CNC mills and lathes at a basic skill level
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Must be able to support and improve processes through Ariens Production System methods
  
  

WORK ENVIRONMENT...

• Ability to stand and/or walk for 8 hours a day
• Must be able to use hands to position parts in place
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment
