Aries Analytic is a cannabis testing laboratory located in Ferndale, Michigan which provides the required testing services for Potency, Pesticide, Heavy Metals, Microbial, Water Activity and Foreign Matter Inspection to licensed growers and processors. Our laboratory is a fast past high production environment that is looking for scientists that have current experience in 2 or more of the analytical methods listed above and willing to cross train in departments as needed
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analytical Chemist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience (7 years) in analytical chemistry and demonstrate proficiency in various laboratory techniques. This role is crucial for expanding our current workflow to include a second shift team while ensuring the quality and integrity of our laboratory reports to customers through rigorous testing and analysis. The Senior Analytical Chemist will work collaboratively within a team and take on leadership responsibilities as we continue to grow our laboratory services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct complex analytical testing using GCMS-Headspace and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrumentation.
- Develop a functional 2nd shift within the existing laboratory workflow to ensure ongoing testing to meet high production volume
- Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to manage sample tracking, data entry, and reporting.
- Report to the Lab Manager, QA Manager and executive personnel
Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field with significant experience in analytical chemistry.
- Proven expertise in chromatography techniques, including Gas Chromatography, High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, and other relevant methodologies.
- Familiarity with microscopy techniques and their application in analytical settings is a plus.
- Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
