Position Objective:
The CNC Setup/Operator is tasked with setup of short production (25 – 100 pc.) runs using Live Tooled Lathes and VMC’s. Multiple setup’s a day is routine..
Job Requirements and Primary Responsibilities:
- Setup Lathes, Mills, live tools and 4thaxis in VMC’s. Horizontal experience a plus.
- Assist in Debugging of programs and tooling to boost efficiency.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, setup sheets.
- Use Calipers, Micrometers, Bore gauges and various inspection tools.
- Cleans machine, tooling, and parts. Performs general machine maintenance. (Coolants, oils).
- Troubleshoot basic CNC alarms.
Required Skills:
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with other programming and engineering.
- Ability to accurately use standard measuring tools at the machine. (Tight tolerances of /- .0005)
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of basic and complex functions of Milling and Turning Centers.
- Experience with Okuma OSP control.
- 3 years of CNC Setup and Operation.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to frequently lift 10 to 50 pounds.
- The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and reach above shoulders.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Keen awareness of surroundings always.
