Behavior technician- In-Home
The Behavior Technician (BT) position is at the heart of any Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program. Each child’s treatment plan is carried out by the BT on a daily basis. Consistency within the treatment plan is critical, as is time management. The Behavior Technician is responsible for upholding the highest quality of care. A desire to work with children is essential. The ideal candidate would be patient and open-minded, with a strong work ethic.
The Behavior Technician will provide one-on-one individual treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder ages 2 to 21 using Applied Behavior Analysis. They will implement learning programs (communication, self-help, play skills) under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Responsibilities:
- Receive thorough training and ongoing supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
- Provide 1:1 ABA therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults with ASD
- Utilize natural environment teaching, prompting, behavior reduction techniques, and other ABA principles to support individuals in achieving independence
- Collect, record, and summarize data using company-provided devices
- Collaborate regarding client progress and behavior tracking
- Work across multiple caseloads and teams to provide 1:1 treatment to clients
- Collaborate with other members of each clients team
- Attend necessary team meetings and 1:1 supervision as required
- General knowledge and understanding of HIPAA compliance and adherence to its guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
BT/Level II:(must meet one of the criteria below)
- Enrolled in OR hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy)
- Hold an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy) and at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)
- Possess a high school diploma (or GED) and have 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (equivalent to 2 years of full-time experience, including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)
- Fluent in a non-English speaking language or certified by a tribal nation and have high school diploma/GED
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
