We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medic to join our healthcare and safety team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality medical care in the unique setting of music and outdoor festivals /events. This can include everything from emergency situation stabilizations to working in a First-Aid booth. This role requires a strong understanding of medical protocols, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. The Medic will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and delivering critical care.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer basic life support and advanced life support as necessary.
- Manage airways and stabilize until transport arrives
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with medical practices.
- an understanding of how to survive in outdoor elements and an appreciation of these type of communities a bonus
Qualifications
- EMT-B or higher, RN/LPN preferred, WFA with at least 2 year field experience accepted as well. Training done on the job for this unique setting.
- Certification in CPR/AED is required; advanced certifications preferred.
- Proven knowledge of physiology and critical care transport protocols.
- Experience with airway management techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, including the ability to recognize critical conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, demonstrating calmness and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and team members.
