Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary team. The PMHNP will provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with therapists and other healthcare providers to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary team. The PMHNP will provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with therapists and other healthcare providers to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and managing medication regimens.
- Provide psychotherapy or counseling as part of a comprehensive treatment approach.
- Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and clinic standards.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Stay updated on evidence-based practices and emerging trends in psychiatric care.
- Participate in clinic meetings and case reviews to discuss patient care and contribute to team decisions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP-BC).
- Active, unrestricted Maryland APRN license with prescriptive authority.
- DEA registration and authorization to prescribe controlled substances.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric care, preferably in outpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and cultural competence.
