We are currently in need of a Scrub Nurse for our Great Neck and Manhattan locations. A Plastic Surgery Scrub Nurse is a vital member of the surgical team responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient preparation, execution, and follow-up of plastic surgery procedures. This role combines clinical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care. Must be able to commute to both locations, which are in Great Neck and New York City.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preoperative Duties:
- Prepare the operating room for plastic surgery procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are available.
- Perform surgical scrub and assist in gowning and gloving the surgical team.
- Verify and ensure all equipment is functioning properly before surgery.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to confirm the patient’s identity, surgical site, and procedure.
2. Intraoperative Duties:
- Assist the surgeon by providing instruments, sutures, and other necessary supplies during surgery.
- Maintain the sterile field and monitor for potential contamination.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs to facilitate the procedure efficiently.
- Ensure accurate handling, labeling, and counting of surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps.
3. Postoperative Duties:
- Assist with dressing the surgical site and preparing the patient for transfer to recovery.
- Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and storage of instruments and equipment.
- Document surgical activities, including counts and any intraoperative occurrences.
- Participate in postoperative briefings to review outcomes and address any concerns.
4. General Responsibilities:
- Support the surgical team with other tasks as needed, including patient education and preoperative preparation.
- Stay updated on advancements in plastic surgery techniques, tools, and protocols.
- Comply with infection control and safety standards in the operating room.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
- Active RN or LPN license (required).
- Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) is a plus.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a scrub nurse, preferably in plastic or cosmetic surgery.
- Familiarity with aesthetic procedures and reconstructive techniques is highly desirable.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
