Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Development Coordinator located in Katy, Texas. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for daily tasks related to communication, customer service, project management, fundraising, and writing.
Minimum Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree from accredited university with a minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferably with exposure to educational causes ● Willing to become educated in the area of classical education through self-study and attending presentations or trainings ● Demonstrated success in dealing with and managing a variety of people, ideas, and situations ● Exceptional organizational, communication, and writing skills ● Must work well in a team-oriented environment ● Self-starter with knowledge of Houston, Katy and surrounding communities, as well as willingness to seek out and secure funding from organizations with national profiles ● Computer skills needed include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database usage, as well as Google productivity tools and relevant development and fundraising software ● Ability to meet established deadlines
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
● Lead coordination of Giving Tuesday, End of Year Appeal, annual gala, and other community-building and fundraising events ● Assist with coordination of Classical Symposia series and attendant publicity ● Coordinate record-keeping for capital campaign and other fundraising activities ● Coordinate monthly and annual program giving ● Identify, cultivate, and communicate with donors, donor prospects, and grant-awarding foundations; keep them informed on a regular basis of Aristoi Classical Academy’s work and the impact of their contributions on the life of the school ● Research, identify, and secure potential funders and grants ● Lead staff and volunteer components of major community-building events including network-wide Faculty Symposia and the annual Aristoi gala ● Develop and oversee implementation of the Aristoi network’s Multi-Year Fundraising Development Plan, in consultation with the Superintendent and other staff as required ● Develop and implement other fundraising plans as necessary, including capital projects, in 5610 Morton Road, Katy, Texas 77493 aristoiclassical.org Phone: 281.391.5003 Fax: 281.391.5010 consultation with the Superintendent ● Develop and implement PR/marketing plans, in consultation with Superintendent and other staff as required ● Oversee, supervise, & provide administrative support for all fundraising events ● Develop agenda and materials for all fundraising, marketing and special events committees; attend these meetings and manage follow-up activities with volunteers ● Assist in the recruitment and training of fundraising volunteers ● Oversee all donor acknowledgments ● Produce all fundraising reports and maintain donor records ● Participate in conferences and staff meetings ● Communicate directly with board members and fundraising volunteers for development support needs ● Attend school board meetings regularly to update the board ● Identify new grant opportunities for the school and determine their priority ● Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
