Medical Biller

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team at our new location opening in Rogers, AR. This position requires being in the office Monday - Friday, 8 AM-5PM. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing Laboratory Tests and services to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance companies. Your role will play a crucial part in the financial success of our healthcare organization. Experience with AdvancedMD billing software is a plus. Our laboratory only bills for 6 infectious disease tests. Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing experience is required. Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to identify appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered
- Enter coded data into billing software or electronic health record systems
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resubmit claims as necessary
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate reimbursement
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations
- Stay updated on industry changes, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation and coding

Skills:
- Proficient in ICD-10, ICD-9, and CPT coding systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
- Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Ability to interpret medical records and accurately assign codes
- Knowledge of medical collections processes and procedures
- Understanding of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding system is a plus
