Under the supervision of the Director of STEAM & CTE, the Technology Device Maintenance Teachers primary responsibility is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. The program will include work-based learning in the schools new Tech Repair Studio. Instruction will be hands-on and aligned with technical and professional skills standards outlined by Arizona State and AZACS CTE requirements. The instructor must have the ability to differentiate technical instruction for various levels of students on the autism spectrum and students with other special needs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
Teaching Responsibilities :
- Teach problem-solving and critical thinking in the maintenance and repair of technology devices
- Identify and apply personal responsibility for a safe and healthy environment
- Teach the use of job-specific tools, materials, and equipment used to maintain technology
- Explain various safety measures and procedures and how inadequate measures can damage equipment
- Operate and maintain delivery robot
- Identify security issues related to the technology environment (i.e., computer hardware and software, data, mobile devices, networks, etc.)
- Instruct students on user-related threats (i.e., ransomware, phishing, viruses, email attachments, social engineering, spoofing, identity theft, spamming, etc.)
- Identify issues and trends affecting data and information privacy
- Identify common system components, install and configure common peripheral devices
- Assess and identify troubleshooting and best practices to resolve
- Collect data on skill acquisition and academics as directed
- Strong adherence to policies as outlined in the AZACS Employee Manual
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Other duties as assigned by the administration
