We're seeking a Donor Relations Coordinator to join our Development Department. The Donor Relations Coordinator assists with fundraising, donor acquisition & retention and event coordination related activities and campaigns that positively engage supporters, collaborators, community leaders, AZA staff, and the general public.
LOCATION: 60% Remote, 30% Community/Networking, 10% in-office
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
COMPENSATION: $22-$28 per hour, with pay increases TWICE a year and a comprehensive benefits package
- Implement a “communications and in-person activities” plan to engage (or re-engage) donors, funders and other key supporters in our community
- Maintain clean and accurate data in the CMR database, including importing/exporting donation data from different platforms
- Enter key donor data for events and individual donor outreach, and prepare and run accurate donation letter receipts for one-time donors and recurring donors
- Individual Giving
Assist with managing individual donor acquisition, renewal, retention and upgrade campaigns in alignment with organizational fundraising strategies
Motivate and identify donors and prospects to make major gifts to the organization
Assist with the creation and distribution of appeal content to supporter base, including upgrading or sustaining donation appeals
Coordinate donor stewardship and renewal activities such as tours, phone calls, cards, donor summary letters, lapsed donor outreach, etc.
- Assist with obtaining corporate sponsorships (relationship building and ongoing communication with local vendors and corporations for sponsorships and in-kind donations)
- Assist with the creation of materials for our annual campaigns
Event Planning and Coordination
- Assist the team with the planning and execution of annual fundraising and donor stewardship events, including event project management (timeline, project budget, etc.), coordinating with vendors, program production, volunteer coordination, and other activities associated with conducting a successful event
- Assist with 3rd party fundraising & awareness events by coordinating with outside entities
Communications
- Assist with social media management related to fundraising activities (creating positive content and monitoring audience engagement)
- Assist with content creation for various outreach campaigns, newsletters and other communications
- Assist with obtaining photos, videos, quotes, stories and other items for marketing and fundraising campaigns
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required;
- Minimum 1 year of donor relations, fundraising and event planning work experience
- Must have the flexibility to occasionally work early mornings, evenings and weekends, as needed
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, popular social media channels and information management systems
- Ability to travel throughout Maricopa County as needed to visit sites related to department objectives
- Highly organized and detail oriented, able to independently juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Able to meet all compliance requirements during onboarding including, but not limited to, successfully obtaining a Fingerprint Clearance Card and being able to provide a valid driver's license, car insurance and registration
