Do you have a desire to help kids with autism learn in a unique environment? We are looking for the right person to join our team and assist children on the spectrum learn more about themselves and their academics while attending school in a quiet setting that is home to horses and chickens and wonderful wildlife. We offer a small staff to student ratio.
Mission
To educate children with ASD which include learning differences, attention deficits, and developmental delays along with communication difficulties, to achieve their greatest potential and assist them in developing individual special gifts and talents. We implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles of Behavior change throughout the day.
Compensation
· Rate of pay is based on the applicant’s skill level and education. Raises are available within 45 days.
Small group training and on-the-job training provided.

Essential Responsibilities
· Teaching a small group of students and individuals inside and outside of the classroom
· Assisting in the preparation and executing lessons and resources
· Assessing the students’ work done in class
· Assisting in developing and adapting individualized teaching methods that are suitable for each of their students.
· Using special tools and equipment provided to stimulate an interesting learning environment.
· Using special skills to teach children and implement the behavior change principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
· Maintain an environment of respect, dignity, organization, and appropriate performance expectations.
· Actively monitor students for growth and development
· Attending to children’s social and emotional needs.
· Maintain data and educational records.
· Attending scheduled staff training and implementing new skills.
Minimum requirements
· Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card or have eligibility to obtain one.
· CPR and First Aid infant to adult
· Strong communication skills
· Self-directed personality traits
· Courteous and professional demeanor and dress
· Able to work 35 hours per week.
· Qualifications:
· GED or High school diploma
· Experience with working with children
· Professional references
Skills and expectations
The teaching assistant should be able to manage the different behaviors that each child exhibits at every given time (training is provided)
· He/she must possess good and effective communication skills.
· Good verbal and numerical skills are also important.
· Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to freely relate with people from diverse backgrounds.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Learn and implement the behavior change techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis (on the job training)
· Adopt and follow all school policies and to be aware of Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety legislation
· Participate in training to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the needs of the post.
· Manage and support students with challenging behavior.
· You will be jointly responsible for the safeguarding of children in our care, it is a requirement of this role that you adhere to all relevant
· safeguarding policies and procedures.
· Undertake any other duties within the competency of the post as determined by the Head teacher/administrator.
