Job Description : Admixture Technician

This role operates under the supervision of the physician to verify and execute orders to facilitate the safe, efficient administration of treatment to patients.
Responsibilities for Admixture Technician :
- Oversees inventory control and documentation of medications and pharmaceutical / nursing supplies.
- Ensures safety and quality control by maintaining MSDSA sheets, conducting inspections of emergency equipment and medications, monitoring expiration dates, and properly storing medication.
- Reviews relevant patient information and verifies orders for accuracy, appropriateness, authorization, and completeness
- Packages and labels medications per policy to facilitate safe administration
- Calculates correct volumes / doses and compounds medications, chemotherapy, and biotherapy using sterile technique
- Disposes of hazardous drugs, materials and waste according to OSHA
- Maintains appropriate records as related to the daily operation of the clinical pharmacy.
- Anticipates barriers to timely pharmaceutical care and assists in problem solving
- Responsible for the cleaning of all pharmacy areas including the hood daily Responds to the emergency medical needs of the patients
