General Job Brief:
Leadership of the Bowling program, including day-to-day operations, recruitment, practice planning,
scheduling, academic accountability, community service, intentional faith integration, fundraising.
This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian
mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and
vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a culture of faith, influence, relationships, and excellence.
- Day-to-day operations of the Bowling program.
- Recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
- Practice, scheduling, and competition preparation and organization.
- Off-campus facility coordination and relationship management.
- Fundraising as directed and needed for the program (through opportunities coordinated by the athletics department).
- Academic accountability and understanding of program eligibility.
- Provides spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for the team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.
- Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
- Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
- The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred).
- Playing or coaching experience in their sport.
- Demonstrated connection to the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University.
Working Conditions:
- General bowling environment.
- Office hours to accomplish administrative tasks.
- Meeting with student-athletes as needed.
- Travel to competition and recruitment as needed.
Time Required:
- Standard college bowling calendar for in-season and out-of-season.
- Year-round recruitment and communication expectations.

This position is considered to be part-time, exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the
Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws.
