Arizona Coalition for Change | Our Voice Our Vote Arizona is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Rural Engagement Manager. This position plays a crucial part in advancing our mission of deepening community engagement, amplifying the voices of BIPOC constituents, and fostering an inclusive environment that drives meaningful change.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Maricopa City and Pinal County, with a strong commitment to social justice and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, building trust and cooperation across lines of difference.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture relationships with local stakeholders, community leaders, and residents to ensure effective outreach efforts.
- Identify and address key local issues by listening to community concerns and aligning actions with community priorities.
- Organize and facilitate town halls, community forums, and events fostering open dialogue, active participation, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Member Support and Recruitment:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract new members to our programs and initiatives, particularly targeting rural communities.
- Conduct regular outreach efforts to build awareness, foster engagement, and increase participation among existing members.
- Recruit and coordinate team members for the Pinal County team ensuring roles are filled with individuals passionate about community organizing and social justice.
- Voter Education, Registration, and Advocacy:
- Organize and facilitate voter education and registration training, equipping community members with knowledge to participate actively in local, state, and federal elections.
- Lead voter registration programs and issue-based advocacy campaigns mobilizing rural voices and shaping policy decisions affecting lives.
A successful candidate will possess 1-2 years of organizing experience, preferably in rural or low-income communities, with a focus on racial, social, or economic justice.
