Job Summary
As a Fitness Coordinator, it is your responsibility to assist in the supervision of the Fitness Center, accommodate club members and visitors by greeting them, and maintain cleanliness of fitness center. Create and communicate fitness events and programs to members and involved department staff. Be a positive influence and open to member feedback to better improve operations. Perform duties listed while maintaining a high level of customer service. Transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of guests’ accounts, and assisting fitness staff. Support director with payroll processing as needed.
Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:
- 1-2 years of entry level experience (in a country club setting preferred)
- Possess general knowledge of business principles
- Interact well with a variety of people with attention to comprehending information
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Understands written communication
- Get's along with others
- Have confidence when needing to make independent decisions
- Willingness to adjust to varying scheduling
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High-school graduate or GED equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Health Related/Physical Education field preferred.
- Entry level, 1-2 years experience in a country club setting preferred.
- College or equivalent on-the-job training preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must also be able to see well and read fine print (2-3 hours), have good communication skills (i.e., communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English). Performing movements which require bending, stooping, and typing as well as lifting/carrying materials weighing up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures, work directly with the public performing services. Job requires exposure to some weather conditions as well as temperature controlled gym space. Must be able to work in an open area with other employees and visitors.
