The Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (ADLCC) is the only organization in Arizona whose sole purpose is to elect Democrats to the State House and Senate.
Salary, Benefits, and Policies
The pay for this role is $85,000-95,000/year. This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a hybrid in-person and remote position.
What You Will Do
The Finance Director crafts, manages, and maintains the ADLCC finance plan alongside the Executive Director and members of the board. The FD’s accurate fundraising projections are essential in ensuring the sound fiscal management of the organization. A large focus of this role will be on identifying and cultivating new donor relationships and building sustainable self-sustaining programs.
The Finance Director cultivates and maintains relationships with current and potential donors as well as current members and lobbyists. This individual supports the Chair, the Executive Director and other fundraising surrogates to cultivate and steward relationships.
Core Responsibilities
Create and execute a realistic but aggressive finance plan for the ADLCC [50%]
- Develop and execute a multi-faceted short-and long-term finance plan with programs aimed at multiple categories of donors (including PACs, high–and low-dollar individuals, other institutional givers, and corporations) with programs targeted at specific constituencies of donors in consultation with the Executive Director.
- Plan, schedule, and manage small-and large-scale fundraising events ranging from small social gatherings to large events with 100 attendees while coordinating direct reports on executing events. Oversee and manage staff working on these events.
- Maintain a working knowledge of national donors and institutions engaged in Arizona, identifying new potential funding partners and opportunities to collaborate with existing partners in new ways.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, lobbyists, and elected officials in state and nationally.
- Provide the necessary information and preparation for the Executive Director and Board Members to maintain relationships with major donors, institutional partners and allies.
- Recruit and manage finance committee members and other stakeholders with an interest in supporting ADLCC
- Supervise, mentor, and coach finance staff to meet goals
Create and Maintain Fundraising Systems and Structures [20%]
- Manage the caucus call time calendar of candidates, members, and staff, including maintaining the donor database, identifying strategic targets for call time, preparing lists and call sheets, tracking call results, completing donor follow-up via email and phone, and ensuring that all aspects of call time are completed.
- Maintain and improve systems for call time, donor follow-up, and re-solicitation.
- Work with fundraising consultants and internal team to establish lanes of work and systems for tracking
Staff Management [20%]
- Hire and manage the Deputy Finance Director(s) and Finance and Operations Assistant.
- In conjunction with the Deputy Finance Director(s) and District Managers, assist incumbent members and new challenger candidates with developing and executing their own successful fundraising plans.
- Coach staff in effective fundraising strategies, including rolodexing, call time, effective messaging and scripts, and event management.
Facilitating the Flow of Information in All Directions [10%]
- Update the Executive Director, Leadership Team, Compliance Consultants, and relevant stakeholders on managed revenue streams, cash flow, and projections
- Keep ADLCC team updated on fundraising, events, and expectations/needs from the team
