Job Summary

This position manages the development and maintenance of the Department of Child Safety Comprehensive Health Plan (DCS CHP)'s policies and protocols; serves as the DCS Comprehensive Health Plan (CHP) Communications Administrator and leads health program strategic initiatives, legislative responses and training efforts.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties

  • Serve in the health plan key staff role of Communications Administrator as required by AHCCCS. Serve as Communications Liaison to DCS CHP's subcontracted Managed Care Organization (MCO) to oversee health plan communications including member and provider information material and ensure alignment with DCS policies. Lead health care promotion activities in collaboration with other DCS divisions, state agencies and community partners. Develop publications and use other marketing tools to target populations (i.e. DCS Specialists, foster caregivers) that need additional information and/or assistance in order to assist members and meet health service performance goals. Develop health plan communications policies and protocols in alignment with Medicaid rules, ADA, language services requirements for those with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and DCS policies.
  • Manage DCS CHP's contributions to DCS' strategic plan and participate in federal strategic planning processes including the development and writing of the federal five year plan, health oversight plan, annual updates and other child welfare related reports.
  • Lead DCS CHP Policy Committee organization; and with other health plan leadership, participate in the development, writing and implementation of healthcare strategies, policies in alignment with Medicaid requirements, and procedures to improve programs and address identified issues through, but not limited to, annual plans, workplans and evaluations. Serve as the CHP Leadership health plan liaison to DCS Learning and Development (L&D) for DCS CHP contributions to DCS training as well as development of DCS CHP specific training.
  • Serve as DCS CHP liaison to the contracted MCO and provider community related promoting healthcare services for DCS CHP children, youth and caregivers. Participate on various DCS and health plan committees especially those where policy, training and communications subjects are an integral part of the activities.
  • Lead health plan legislative activities, requests for information responses and tracking, and other projects as assigned by DCS CHP Assistant Director.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
