Job Summary

The Training Officer 2 will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Training and Education. This position will assist in training

hospital staff. The incumbent will conduct classes, enter data, create course-ware, and provide technical assistance.

Job Duties

  • Conducts Training classes. Orients new staff to hospital policies and procedures and trains mandatory programs to all staffing levels. Schedules and conducts Train the Trainer events, conducts remedial and or corrective training for employees at the request of management. AHA Faculty Training Certified allowing for onsite certification of CPR Instructors.
  • Acts as a Team Lead over approximately 20 adjunct instructors for both CPI and AHA including but not limited to conducting interviews for prospective candidates, candidate selection, and the organizing and or conducting the training both on-site and off-site when necessary. (CON'T BELOW)
  • Provides coaching, oversight, training and conducts staff meetings to ensure that education being provided is consistent with program standards. Acts as primary liaison between the AHA and the CPI corporation for ASH. Researches and creates material that can be distributed and utilized as supplemental education/scenario-based trainings for adjunct instructor usage. (CON'T BELOW)
  • Provides coaching, oversight, training and conducts staff meetings to ensure that education being provided is consistent with program standards. Acts as primary liaison between the AHA and the CPI corporation for ASH.
  • Prepares training materials including the development of training manuals, acquisition, use of audiovisual equipment, handbooks, data entry, maintenance and upkeep of classroom models, and other training materials. Creates reports and sends notifications to supervisory figures and employees concerning training needs on a monthly basis. Manages both the AHA Instructor website and the CPI Instructor website for ASH.
  • Confers with line and management/supervisory staff officials concerning training needs. Serves on the Assault Reduction Committee. Reviews Incident Reports and Incident Videos on request from the Quality Department and provides expert opinion concerning interventions and training opportunities. Provides expert analysis for investigators concerning CPI on behalf of employees and the hospital.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)

  • Training strategies and methods;
  • Administrative and management theory and practices.
  • Performance Management (PM), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies

  • Analyzing training requirements, needs survey, scheduling, content, methods of adult learning, material and evaluation;
  • Planning and design of educational curriculum materials;
  • Providing technical supervision in training matters;
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with individuals, groups and representatives of other organizations
  • Ability to:
  • Plan and monitor time, effective working relationships with all staffing levels;
  • Write training materials, speak publicly and effectively;
  • Evaluate and improve training programs' materials and courses;
  • Establish and maintain effective working relations with individuals, groups and representatives of diverse agencies;

Selective Preference(s)

Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, a social or behavioral science or in a related field with 3 years of work

experience training adult learners. CPR certification is a plus.

Retirement

To help you build a financially secure future, the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will make a contribution to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution. In other words, you and the State will each pay 50% of the total cost of the benefit. New State employees have a 27 week wait period for contributions to begin.
