ARIZONA GENERAL HOSPITAL
Responsibilities
Provides oversight of the activities on a nursing unit during a specific shift, including serving as a resource to staff, directing patient flow, assuring appropriate utilization of resources and providing oversight for the provisions of quality care in a manner satisfying to patients.
- Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG), and participation in inservice education.
- Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
- Evaluates care given by staff.
- Coaches staff to improve care.
- Ensures standard of care is maintained.
- Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.
- Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.
- Responds to clinical emergencies.
- Utilizes the Clinical Response Team (CRT) appropriately for the area.
- Demonstrates appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations.
- Provides and ensures quality patient care.
- Utilizes the nursing process, including accurately assessing the patient's physical, emotional, spiritual and learning needs.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Two years RN experience in Surgical Department
- One year Charge Nurse experience
- Current AZ State RN license in good standing
- ADN required; BSN strongly preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS
- Current American Heart Association ACLS
Pay Range
$42.85 - $63.77 /hour
Salary : $43 - $64
