What You'll Do :
This position reports to the Compliance Program Manager within the Division of Behavior Health and Housing. Performs difficult, complex and / or sensitive audits. Scope may include multidisciplinary or multi functional areas of a complex nature. Advises on the requirements, liabilities, and penalties of compliance and noncompliance. Prepares audit reports, outlines, draft and final reports. Develops audit scopes, objectives and procedures in accordance with generally-accepted auditing standards (GAAS) and government audit standards (GAS). May provide testimony at formal or informal hearings.
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and grant requirements.
- Examines, investigates, and reviews records, reports, financial statements and management practices.
- Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
- Reports to management about asset utilization and audit results, and recommend changes in operations and financial activities.
- Plans and organizes audit procedures. Performs statistical sampling of data. Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and present to leadership.
