What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at ARIZONA MEDICAL AND INJURY PLLC?
Stamp Medical is seeking an experienced bilingual Medical Assistant for our interventional pain management clinic. We have an immediate need in our facility located at Peoria Ave/I-17. Candidate must be available to travel with procedure team to Tucson once a week.
· Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
· Perform general office duties such as answering patient calls, completing prior authorizations, and scheduling/rescheduling/canceling appointments
· Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for MRIs, surgery, consultations
· To prepare surgical trays
· Medication logging
· Assist in drawing medication
· Assist in procedures at the direction of the treating physician
· Blood pressure monitoring and O2 saturation
· Confirm patient information prior to beginning any procedures
· Autoclaving probes used for RFA
· Assist in helping patient get into position on the table
· Assist in helping patient get off table and hand off to recovery room staff
· Making sure all equipment is up to date, clean and functional and in adherence with state / federal guidelines.
· Ensure physician schedule are scheduled appropriately
· Cover for all medical assistants as needed during his/her absence
· Inventory (office supplies as well as medications supplies)
· Calling attorneys for policy limits upon provider’s request of care
· Maintaining communication with the patient at all times
· Ensure all diagnostic, test results, imaging and patient information is ready for physician
· Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat, clean and stocked
· Ensure that surgery orders and clearance are sent to the appropriate provider in a timely manner
· Ensure billing is done by provider
· Medical record tasks
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High school diploma is required
· Certified Medical Assistant
· Thorough knowledge of medical office practice
· Knowledge of various Computer software; including EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
· Kareo experience highly desired
· Knowledge of HIPAA/OSHA compliance
· Appropriate biohazard materials disposal
· Good verbal and written communication
· Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
· Ability to problem solve and work independently
· Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
