Responsibilities :
In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patients journey by :
- Assess and monitor therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician, including with exams and procedures.
- Assist in providing staff training and in-service instruction.
- Assist in determining staffing requirements and maintaining effective nursing staff coverage for the practice within budgetary guidelines.
- Participate in the interviewing and recruiting of nursing personnel; assist in annual performance evaluations of nursing and clinical staff.
- Assist with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures; assist and collaborate with clinical research.
- Assist in verifying correct coding and charge capture.
- Maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow with focus on patient safety.
- Perform venipuncture; access implanted ports and maintain central venous access devices and alternate delivering systems.
- Document all elements of care; triage patient / family phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
- Assess patient / family needs and provide education on a variety of topics and resources.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record detailed information in the patient electronic medical record.
- Facilitate and schedule consultation preop-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
- Act as a resource to LPN / LVNs and medical assistants; serve as mentor / preceptor and provides day to day guidance to less experienced nurses.
- Provide nursing coverage for the satellite offices as needed.
