The Director of Engineering | Power Generation Enterprise leads a team of engineers and technical professionals responsible for providing comprehensive design and plant engineering support for the Gas & Oil Generation fleet. This role is critical in shaping engineering strategies that drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and proactively address fleet-wide challenges. Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute engineering strategies to enhance fleet reliability, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
- Operational Excellence: Identify and implement solutions for fleet-wide technical challenges, driving continuous improvement in engineering practices.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all engineering work adheres to applicable codes, regulations, policies, and procedures while mitigating operational risks.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders across operations, maintenance, regulatory, and safety teams to align engineering initiatives with business objectives.
- Team Development & Performance Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of engineers and technical professionals. Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability, while fostering professional development to enhance team capabilities.
- Expertise in power generation and fleet-wide engineering solutions.
- Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary engineering teams in a high-stakes operational environment.
- Strong background in regulatory compliance within the energy sector, including safety and environmental regulations.
- A track record of implementing engineering best practices that improve reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to drive collaboration and influence decision-making at all levels.
- A four-year Bachelors degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution or an ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA)
- Ten (10) years power plant operations and/or engineering experience.
- In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and power plant operations and/or engineer experience equaling 14 years.
- Five (5) years supervisory/management experience with proven ability to develop and manage a high performing team.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations.
- Knowledge of power plant engineering, operations and maintenance.
