Emergency Event Management Coordinator | Renewable & Thermal Generation
As an Emergency Event Management Coordinator on the Renewable and Thermal Generation (Non-Nuclear) team, you will oversee the Generation Organization's Emergency Event Management Program, ensuring a coordinated, efficient, and effective response to significant or catastrophic events. You will play a critical role in planning, developing, and directing emergency response activities, maintaining procedures, conducting training exercises, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills to enhance preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across the Generation (Non-Nuclear) Organization and external agencies.
Key Skills And Responsibilities
Emergency Event Coordination: Lead and manage the Emergency Event Response and Recovery Plans for our Renewable and Thermal Generation (Non-Nuclear) Infrastructure, ensuring timely and effective responses to critical incidents.
Crisis Preparedness & Planning: Develop and maintain emergency event procedures, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and best practices.
Training & Drills: Design, implement, and oversee emergency response training programs, simulations, and drills to enhance readiness.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with internal teams, government agencies, first responders, and external organizations to strengthen emergency response capabilities.
Incident Management & Recovery: Oversee response efforts, analyze incident data, and develop strategies to mitigate risk and improve recovery timelines.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local emergency preparedness regulations, documenting and reporting emergency response activities.

We’re Looking For Emergency Management Professionals Who
- Have experience in emergency event planning, crisis response, or disaster recovery within power generation, utilities, or critical infrastructure.
- Open to traveling to various generation infrastructure sites across Arizona as needed
- Possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Strong experience working in and managing Microsoft Teams Channels and updating documents using various Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.
- Demonstrate leadership and collaboration across internal teams, first responders, and government agencies.
- Have expertise in incident command systems (ICS), emergency management frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
- Are proactive communicators with the ability to train, guide, and prepare teams for emergency response scenarios.
- Thrive in dynamic environments that require rapid assessment, strategic planning, and decisive action.
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Four (4) years Emergency Planning related experience
- In lieu of bachelor's degree, high school diploma (or equivalent) and eight (8) years Emergency Planning experience.
- Extensive emergency planning experience and knowledge is needed.
- Proficient with Web EOC (Department of Homeland Security) and other Incident Management related software and the ability to instruct others on its use.
- Requires effective oral and written communications skills.
