The Grant Writer for Arizona PBS will serve as the primary person responsible for developing a system to research grant opportunities, develop proposals, manage an ongoing pipeline, and prepare revenue forecasts in accordance with PBS and other non-profit best practices as well as complying with funder standards and requirements. The Grant Writer works closely with Arizona PBS Development and broader executive teams to identify and prioritize grant and proposal opportunities in support of strategic initiatives, objectives and goals. Annual salary of $55,000 - $65,000; DOE.
Essential Duties :
- Researches grant opportunities from a variety of public and private foundations and organizations; manages the grant tracking database, and disseminates information on funding opportunities to supervisor and other Arizona PBS executives for review.
- Establishes and maintains both internal and external relationships relevant to projects and proposals.
- Consolidates, writes, edits, or rewrites proposals;
- Assists in development of proposals with emphasis on interpreting sponsoring agency guidelines to ensure compliance with both CPB and funder guidelines and requirements.
- May also work with outside grant writing professionals and writers within ASU and the ASU Foundation.
- Works closely with AZPBS leadership to identify and prioritize grant opportunities
- While the Grant Writer holds responsibility for composing and completing grant proposals, the writer is not incharge of implementing grants and will coordinate with other internal resources to ensure timelines and standards are met.
- Tracks grant applications, awards and follows up with funding agencies as appropriate; prepares a variety of periodic status reports.
- Researches, reviews and interprets requests for proposals and funding guidelines from a variety of sources to determine if appropriate and optimal response format.
- Monitors grant compliance including funding levels, expenditures and operational activities.
- Customizes layouts to reflect both guidelines and mission of the funding agency to which the grant proposal will be submitted.
- Supplies all necessary information to AZPBS finance department to ensure ability to execute on grants.

Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment / field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and / or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
