Digital Discovery Initiative Intern – Now Hiring!

The Digital Discovery Initiative at Arizona State University is seeking motivated interns (x4) to help develop immersive digital environments for scientific exploration. This position focuses on creating highly detailed digital twins of planetary landscapes using Unity, Cesium, and geospatial data like LIDAR and satellite imaging.

Responsibilities :

• Create  3D models  of natural environments using  Unity and Cesium .
• Integrate  photogrammetry, LIDAR, and satellite data  into digital twins.
• Collaborate with researchers to enhance models with real-world data.
• Build multi-user, immersive experiences using Unity
• Stay updated on  spatial computing and immersive technology trends .

Who Should Apply?

Ideal candidates have some experience with any of the following -  Unity, 3D modeling, cloud computing (multi-user games) or geospatial visualization  and a passion for  immersive technology .

Job Description :

The  Digital Discovery Initiative  at Arizona State University is seeking motivated and skilled management interns to contribute to groundbreaking advancements in tele science and metascience. This position will focus on creating highly detailed and accurate digital twins of natural planetary landscapes, enabling immersive virtual environments for collaborative scientific research.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between emerging technologies like virtual reality, remote sensing, and data visualization, fostering innovative approaches to observing and understanding the natural world.
