Knowledge Enterprise's Semiconductor Device Processing Core is seeking a Process Integration Engineer. The Process Integration Engineer reports to the Director of Operations in ASU's semiconductor device processing facility in Tempe Arizona. The job duties will include process development and characterization, training cleanroom users, developing and maintaining training materials, performing daily tool and process monitoring, reporting tool health via Process Control charting, writing tool operation procedures, some tool maintenance, and maintaining a safe work area by performing safety training, chemical ordering, and chemical handling.
Essential Duties
The Process Integration Engineer should be skilled in a wide variety of microelectronic device fabrication techniques, semiconductor device physics, and semiconductor device testing. He/she must be effective in working with and directing process team members, affiliated faculty members, and cleanroom users.

The Process Integration Engineer's essential duties include:
- Provides technical leadership and guidance for a team of engineers, technicians, and student workers.
- Ensures that the Semiconductor Device Processing Core facility is a safe workplace by monitoring Core operations, enforcing ASU safety regulations and policies, and proving training on Core specific safety policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Work involves communicating clearly with faculty, graduate students, and industrial scientists.
- Strong knowledge of process development and characterization through the usage of Design of Experiments and Statistical, Process Control, and the associated data analysis tools.
- Ability to identify and develop recommendations for future tooling and process requirements.
- Skill in communicating technical ideas and designs in a positive and professional manner.
Desired Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge in one or more semiconductor processing techniques including wet and dry etch, thin film deposition techniques, thermal processing, and/or lithography.
- Excellent working knowledge of vacuum systems, mechanical, electro-mechanical systems, and process gas handling and delivery systems.
- Highly skilled in process development and characterization techniques such as Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, and the associated data analysis tools is required.
- Excellent knowledge of semiconductor device physics, device characterization, and testing.
- Outstanding customer-oriented communication skills and adoption of proactive approaches.
- Evidence of a Master's degree in engineering or related field and ten (10) years of engineering or related experience, including responsibility for tool and process requirements; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
Working Environment
- The majority of the work is performed in a class 100 cleanroom environment wearing the proper cleanroom attire. Work involves standing and walking for extended periods, i.e. up to eight hours. Occasional bending, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Days and Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. May involve working during off hours to handle emergency situations within the facility.
