What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Technician position at Arizona State University?
ASU 365 Community Union is seeking several part-time production technicians to assist in producing technical aspects of events at Mountain America Stadium, Desert Financial Arena, and other facilities on and off campus as needed. This position reports to the Production Manager and is part-time, hourly, non-benefited and requires a flexible work schedule to accommodate night, weekend and/or holiday events. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications but not all the desired qualifications are still encouraged to apply. We are looking to build a crew of varying skill sets.

Essential Duties:
- Assist in the technical production of live events
- Operate and maintain production equipment and assist in the maintenance of facilities
- Install video, audio, lighting, pipe and drape, and other production components in specific configurations for different venues and events
- Mix live audio using audio consoles, microphones, and related audio components
- Direct live video using a variety of configurations using video switchers, live streaming software, video production software, PTZ cameras, video cameras, and related video components
- Maintain the safety and professional appearance of the production footprint at live events
- Interface with clients to support their vision of each event
- Load, unload, and transport production equipment
- Perform tasks using a university vehicle and other related duties as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in live video and audio production concepts and techniques
- Specialized knowledge of the operation of live event production technology, especially live streaming software, video switchers, PTZ cameras, audio consoles, microphones, and related components
- General knowledge of video signal concepts, formats, and mediums (HDMI, SDI, video over IP, .mov, .mp4, etc.), as well as signal distribution systems such as AMX by Harman
- Comfortable working on high ladders and in high positions
- Must drive on university business and possess a valid US driver license upon employment. This is required.
Working Environment:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb numerous sets of stairs in one shift.
- Working at heights above 40 feet.
- Ability to push, pull and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Use of computer.
Hourly Wage:
$20.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.Driving Requirement:
