Job Description

ASU’s Microelectronics Workforce Development Hub is seeking an experienced Sr Program Manager to lead program management, operations and oversight for its activities and strategy. The Hub provides a consolidated, centralized resource for industry partners, employees, agencies, and other stakeholders to access content in one location. Current offerings include degrees (Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral) along with certificates, certifications, and specializations. The Hub is an interdisciplinary endeavor across ASU’s degree, non-degree and research activities to support our microelectronics stakeholders.

A key function of the hub is developing curriculum and credentials to support Arizona’s growing demand for skilled workers and entrepreneurs equipped to address corporate and public sector needs in microelectronics, semiconductors, supply chain management, and resource management. In this position you will work closely and collaboratively with leaders in workforce development, academia, corporate engagement and business development to ensure the goals, timelines and objectives of the Hub are achieved.

Under the direction of Fulton Schools of Engineering Office of Research, Innovation, Entrepreneurship Senior Director, the Sr Program Manager plays a central role in coordinating and executing all central functions of the Hub, ensuring the goals and objectives are accomplished with excellence in accordance with priorities, time constraints, budgets, and strategic plans. The Sr Program Manager will approach this dynamic position with initiative, anticipation, and problem-solving skills to apply to a fast-paced work environment.



Salary Range

$55,250 - $100,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Identify and engage faculty, students, staff, researchers, and outside organizations who are stakeholders of the Hub internally within ASU
  • Serve as the primary liaison and key resource for all high-level Microelectronics Hub related activities and coordination
  • Develop and disseminate information, status updates and activities report to various stakeholders across Enterprises


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field AND five (5) years' experience managing projects/client relationships; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience specific to higher education, microelectronics industry, semiconductors and/or government a plus
  • Experience in training and development
  • Experience in principles of project/program management
  • Demonstrated learning agility
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specific technologies like databases and web tools a plus
  • Experience with internship, externship, apprenticeship type work or programs
  • Evidence of effective communication skills
  • Experience in building relationships quickly
  • Experience in navigating ambiguous situations, make decisions and influence others.
  • Experience in displaying a high degree of tact, patience, and diplomacy, particularly under pressure while focusing on solutions

  • Evidence in being technologically inclined and comfortable learning new platforms
  • Capacity to work efficiently across multiple programs and projects
  • Experience in interfacing with varied levels of administrators, business professionals, faculty, staff, and collaborators

  • Experience in navigating complex issues and troubleshooting/developing solutions options for recommendations to senior/C-Suite leaders
  • Highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Event management experience


Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%)
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%)
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
  • This position works in a climate-controlled office on the Tempe campus.
