Typical Duties
- Serves Students. Evaluate athletic injuries, provide follow-up treatment and rehabilitation, determine when physician consultation is required, and assess when a student-athlete is incapacitated; communicate injury statuses with coaches and advise on practice/game participation.
- Support and provide medical coverage for teams during practices and home events, including travel with the home team when possible; act as a first responder to injuries, administer first aid, and be prepared to address cardiac emergencies, heat illness, and concussions.
- Develop and maintain documentation of medical conditions, including physicals, insurance information, injury reports, doctor’s notes, and treatment logs.
- Implement preventive measures such as taping, padding, bracing, and rehabilitative exercises for student-athletes; ensure safety of equipment, maintain a clean athletic training room, transport supplies to off-campus events, arrange medical appointments and post-surgery care, and complete necessary insurance forms.
- Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university with major coursework in athletic training, kinesiology, physical education, exercise physiology, anatomy or a related field (Note: Two years of experience as an athletic trainer in a high school or college athletic training environment, is preferred)
- Current NATA BOC certification
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Arizona Driver's License or Equivalent
$71,007 - 75,267 per year, depending on experience.
