Duties
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to pregnant individuals in clinic visits and hospital stays.
- Conduct physical examinations, including pelvic exams and prenatal ultrasounds
- Monitor fetal development and maternal health throughout pregnancy
- Educate patients on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care
- Assist with labor and delivery, including managing pain relief options and monitoring the progress of labor.
- Provide emotional support to patients during the childbirth process
- Conduct postpartum visits to ensure the well-being of both mother and baby
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing midwifery
- Current state licensure as a midwife
- Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
- Knowledge of EClinical Works electronic medical record systems
- Strong understanding of primary care principles and practices
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques and infection control protocols
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and assessing patient health status
- In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, particularly related to pregnancy and childbirth
- Ability to work in an acute care setting with high-risk pregnancies
