What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Research Medical Assistant position at Ark Clinical Research?
The official name for this position is Research Assistant (RA). The RA is responsible for executing protocol procedures including patient screening, chart documentation and preparation, electronic data capture (data entry) for assigned studies, as well as participating in subject recruitment and retention activities. Determine patient eligibility for study along with PI and Study Coordinator. Must ensure that all required study procedures are completed within the proper timeline. Phlebotomy certification preferred not required and must have experience with venipuncture.
Duties:
· Conducts study visits and assists Principal Investigators and Sub-investigators in assessment of medical and medication history, laboratory, and other test results
· Presents study details and trial concepts to the potential research subjects during the informed consent process
· Establish a practical working knowledge of research protocols
· Assists with eligibility determination of patients and subject research activity
· Participate in Investigator’s Meeting and web conferences as requested
· Completion of study specific trainings and educational programs
· Recruits study participants by calling the database and potential subjects who call in response to advertising campaign, attending health fairs, and participating in various community outreach activities
· Enters study data in electronic data capture system as needed
· Maintain study logs as requested by Study Coordinator
· Enters study participant information, recruitment source and screening outcome in Clinical Conductor
· Follows up with any needed medical records or laboratory/diagnostic test results
· When necessary, contacts the subject’s primary care physician to confirm study participation or request for clarification
· Attends and assists with study start up meetings and activities
· Responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting.
· Performs protocol directives and clinic duties as delegated by and under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI).
· Supports lab processes, procedures including collection, processing and shipment of samples as needed
· Follow GCPs and FDA guidelines.
· Assist in query resolution.
