Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare or early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. As an assistant teacher/floater, you will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our students.
Shift:
Mon & Fri: 7:30am - 4:30pm
Tues, Wed & Thurs: 9:30am - 3pm
Duties
- Educate and engage infants and/or preschool-aged children through creative lesson plans and activities that align with developmental milestones.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support positive interactions among children.
- Provide individualized attention to students, recognizing their unique needs and learning styles.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to communicate student progress and address any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space that is conducive to learning and exploration.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including first aid protocols when necessary.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with infants, toddlers and/or preschool-aged children in daycare or educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of childcare principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and developmental stages.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is required.
Staff is required to dress in blue scrubs and non-slip shoes daily. Infant room requires non-slip socks on floors. Expect lots of lifting, bending, squatting, moving as you engage with small children frequently throughout the day.
