Locksmith and Security Technician

Job Summary

ARK Security is seeking an experienced locksmith or someone eager to learn the trade of locksmithing and security to join our team in Rexburg, Idaho. The ideal candidate will perform locksmith work, including installation, adjustment, maintenance, repair, and replacement of all types of locks and integrated security systems, access control devices, and other types of lock hardware such as latches, door closers, and panic bars. Responsibilities also include changing (rekeying) locks, duplicating and originating a variety of keys. The role involves providing locksmithing expertise in the residential, commercial, and automotive markets. Candidates should be eager to learn the skills of the trade, problem-solve on the job, and communicate professionally with customers and fellow team members. Key Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, maintain, repair, and replace various types of locks and associated door hardware
• Service and install access control devices and lock hardware such as electronic latches, strikes and panic bars.
• Change and rekey lock combinations and make new keys as required.
• Provide locksmith services in residential and commercial settings.
• Duplicate and originate automotive car keys including cutting and programming keys and remotes
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with locks, security systems, and vehicle anti-theft systems.
• Drive a service van to various job sites; a valid driver's license is required.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Work independently and manage time effectively in the field.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong interest in learning and growing in the locksmithing and security trade.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable with operating power tools and other industry specific machinery.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in residential, commercial, and automotive locksmithing.
• Experience with electronic security systems and access control devices.

Work Environment

• This position requires working in various environments, including in office, in the field, and vehicles.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy tools and equipment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (after hours), as needed.

Compensation

• Hourly or salary $15 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
