Title: DDI/DNS Engineer (Route53)
Location: - 100% Remote
JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineer for DDI will be part of Network Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) project engineering team. The right candidate will be subject matter expert in designing and implementing next-gen DNS, DHCP and IPAM solutions across networks serving the requirements of Property Networks, Datacenter/Cloud Networks, and Corporate Networks. This role will work closely and collaboratively with a matrix team of expert network architects and engineers to drive adoption of SRE practices and operating models across all network product towers, and around the globe. As the Senior Network Engineer for DDI, the candidate brings focus on building a solid foundation of DDI services that are hosted across a variety of platforms and are highly available across global locations. Reporting to senior leadership, the engineer will be responsible to articulate and deliver an effective DDI solution to meet the demands of increasing complexity and scale of modern IT systems and overcome traditional approaches and limitations. The successful candidate will be expected to bridge the gap by implementing DDI services that are highly efficient and provide high return on investment in a cost-effective manner. This role is accountable for establishing technical level relationships and partnering with all business disciplines, other MI teams, outsourcing vendors, and external suppliers to define and implement the Network SRE DDI roadmap, building and enforcing the standards defined in it.
Required Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent
10 years' experience in information technology including:
10 years' experience in developing network solutions utilizing DDI expertise in mission critical networks.
Good exposure on Route 53.
Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of DDI appliance technologies from industry leading vendors (Infoblox, BlueCat, EfficientIP etc)
Experience in configuring SaaS based DDI solutions from AWS, Azure and other cloud providers
Experience in implementing DNS security policies and DNS resolution policies
Experience in configuring and troubleshooting DNS zones, perform zone transfers
Experience in managing and configuring DHCP scopes and options across multiple environments
Experience in auditing, designing and implementing efficient IP address management techniques including subnetting and supernetting
Experience in Integrating DDI solutions with other network management and monitoring tools
Experience in designing and develop scripts for automating DNS, DHCP, and IPAM tasks
Hands on experience in resolving complex networking issues related to DDI protocols
Experience in designing and implementing NTP solutions for data centers and Cloud service providers
Experience in developing, documenting, and managing the requirements gathering process and provide detailed design and implementation plan to support the requirements throughout the project life cycle
Field experience and knowledge of foundational data networking and IP technologies including (DNS, DHCP, NTP, ARP, TCP/IP, UDP, NAT and others)
Experience with one or more Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine)
Demonstrated experience in delivering written documents detailing network solutions and diagrams
Experience in Agile methodologies, daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions and user story preparations
