Description
- Complete the initial review of records according to guidelines and regulations. Performs chart retrieval from nursing units, ambulatory surgery and ED. Performs document filing and scanning. Analyze charts and enter deficiencies into the computer, review reports and update for electronic signatures using electronic signature mnemonics. Review all records in analysis queue and assign deficiencies. Monitor the declined queue and make corrections. Retrieves any missing charts or loose/missing portions of charts.
- Maintain incomplete records lists and communicate the records to the physician or nurse in order to have them completed timely. Reanalyze records after physician completion and update computer system. Contact physicians, specialty nurses, etc., thru email, phone calls, pagers and verbally for record completion. Responsible for inpatient and outpatient records delivered and returned in a timely manner. Act as liaison for physicians when there are system issues or other problems with record completion on-line to resolve issues quickly. Create tickets for physicians who have issues with Epic.
- Compile and maintain the weekly delinquent list for residents and attendings due by the end of every week. Compile the weekly incomplete chart lists and forward to the Chief Pediatric Resident and Service Chiefs. Identify providers who did not complete records within the time frame and turn in to management in order for a fine to be levied for all delinquent records.
- Communicates with attending and residents regarding charts on the physician fine list. Communicates with physicians, nurses and ancillary staff regarding delinquent outpatient records. Communicates issues regarding delinquent records with Director/Assistant Director weekly. Complete resident reward report and dictation contest monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
