Summary:

PRN; 36 Hours a Month Required

The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) performs delegated routine, predictable patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The SNI is accountable for the delivery of safe, compassionate, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. Key functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit specific onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty.

Description

  • Data Collection and Assessment -responsible for timely and accurate documentation.
  • Planning - assist the RN By contributing to the patient's plan of care.
  • Care of Patient - after skills validation assists the RN with patient care tasks under direct supervision of RN.
  • Evaluation - Assists the RN in evaluating patient/family response to nursing interventions.
