Description
- Develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of professional billing, coding and collection processes across multiple services and payers.
- Responsible for the oversight and management of the professional revenue cycle, including authorizations, billing, coding, denials and collections.
- Directs professional billing and coding management and staff to ensure that accurate submission of all claims and timely collections occurs in accordance with all third-party contract terms including Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, commercial insurance, and direct patient pay.
- Assures maximization of cash collections through diligent and timely monitoring of all open accounts receivable balances.
- Works with other AC Finance VPs and the CFO each month and at fiscal year-end, to calculate the proper valuation of the outstanding accounts receivable along with the corresponding contractual allowance and bad debt reserves to ensure the Arkansas Children’s financial statements are accurate.
- Provides system-wide analysis and reporting on monthly trends related to accounts receivable and net revenue.
- Develops and monitors departmental budgets for the PB Billing department and PB Coding department and provides explanations of variances to budget and forecast to senior leadership monthly.
- Development of new processes and analytical tools to improve the ACPSO insights into net revenue fluctuations and variances.
- Oversees the preparation, calculation and timely submission of data for the quarterly Arkansas Medicaid Enhanced Provider reimbursement.
- Works closely with the revenue cycle management vendor Solventum to ensure optimum implementation, efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensures compliance with all internal controls related to the contractual and bad debt allowance reserve calculation process.
- Plays an integral role in the development of the professional fee net revenue budget on an annual basis.
- Provides due diligence support related to net revenue; assist in the development of financial pro-forma models for strategic initiatives, including new programs, acquisitions and divestitures.
- Manage relationships and communications with the AC System Operations team, the AC Practice Plan, AC System Accounting, AC System Information Services, AC System Internal Audit, the Hospital Revenue Cycle team, the Arkansas Children's Senior Leadership and all external auditors.
- Minimal travel may be required.
