Central Office Payroll Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Finance JOB STATUS: Full Time
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: N/A REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
GRADE/LEVEL: N/A F.L.S.A: Non-Exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: 240 contracted days
Position Summary
The job of the Central Office Payroll Clerk was established for the purpose/s of providing support for department functions with specific responsibility for performing activities related to the accurate processing of authorized invoices; recording, updating and reconciling related financial information; providing instructions and/or accounting support to other personnel in accordance with established practices; maintaining sound reporting and developing proper contractual agreements for district staff attendance; managing the overall functions of employee group insurance benefits; resolving insurance benefit problems; providing information to new and current employees insurance carriers, health care providers and/or administrators, retirees and general public; serving as insured retirees coordinator; ensuring employee and retirees proof of coverage and accurate billing; and directing other employees; overall knowledge of payroll, bookkeeping, accounting and a further understanding of the interrelationship between payroll processing reports and the overall accounting system.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent with an accredited educational institution. Other requirements per job description.
Experience
Minimum of one year of successful experience with proven interpersonal skills and multi-tasking abilities in a job related field. Other requirements per job description.
Physical Requirements
Hand-eye and mind-eye coordination. Constant hearing; intermittent speaking, standing, walking and writing. Frequent carrying, keyboarding, and other repetitive movements. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects often.
Other Requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Skills in human relations, leadership, and conflict management. Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students. Demonstrated skills in the use of technology to enhance student learning.

- To verify time sheets
- Dock hours if needed
- Enter over-contract hours and blended time in Payroll
- Verify leave time is entered correctly
- Collect all time sheets on hourly employees
- Run attendance reports
- Verify docked days
- To enter leave time for Special Education & Central Office
- To produce contracts
- To verify employment for unemployment, loans, etc.
- To assist Chief Financial Officer with reports as needed
- To enter in e-School/e-Finance and process files for records (Payroll processing)
- Add new employees (certified and classified)
- Payroll information (check location/time card)
- Pay rate information (salary information)
- Retirement information (contributory/non-contributory/waiver/t-drop)
- Deduction information (educational memberships/credit union/child support/garnishments/direct deposit)
- Tax information (W-4)
- To inactivate, change or terminate employees (certified and classified) (job change/resign/retirement, etc.)
- To process two Payrolls monthly (plus summer school/additional stipends/bonus, etc.)
- To reconcile pay/deduction/direct deposit/taxes pertaining to Payroll
