Qualifications
- Associates Degree (or higher), or 60 Hours of College Credit or a passing score on the Praxis ParaPro Exam
- Prior job experience.

Performance Responsibilities
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to complete grade level assignments and assessments.
- Assists in implementing specific strategies for reinforcing material or skills initially introduced by the teacher based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.
- Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
- Collaborate with the Migrant Director to develop a schedule of services for identified students.
- Maintain accurate records of instructional and supplemental services provided to students.
- Assist in identification and recruitment of students eligible for the Migrant Education Program.
- Assists in communicating with families; including families for whom English is not their primary language.
- Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
- Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
- Participates in inservice training programs, as assigned.
