Job Title: Food Service Worker

Reports To: Director of Child Nutrition

Contracted Days: 180

Job Summary: Provide assistance within a school food service facility with preparation, service, and storage of food and supplies; program accountability and safety and sanitation procedures.

Essential Duties

• Attend and complete required job related training classes and workshops.
• Practice appropriate procedures to assure sanitation and safety standards are met in the preparation of the service area; preparing, serving and storing food; use and care of equipment; personal habits.
• Follow verbal and/or written instructions for preparing, portioning, garnishing and serving meals, storing food and utilizing and maintaining equipment and facility.
• Consistently demonstrate efficient and productive use of time and resources to meet established productivity standards.
• Maintain with accuracy all required records and forms including time sheets, absence reports, food and supply usage records, cashier records, etc.
• Consistently demonstrate the ability to communicate positively with students, co-workers and school staff. • Follow procedures in personnel matters including grievance, absence, job bidding and established dress code.
• If cashier, receive continued on-the-job training as required by software updates; maintain accuracy in daily transactions and money collections and accounting.
• Perform food service related tasks as assigned by manager or his/her representative.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Some experience in food service work preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
