Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities (other Duties May Be Assigned)
- Answers routine telephone inquiries regarding department programs and procedures.
- Schedule annual conferences for review, evaluation/reevaluation, dismissal, and programming as needed.
- Complete 1st and 2nd parent notifications and mail/distribute as determined by mandated compliance timeline.
- Notify teachers/Designee/LEA of changes in scheduled conferences.
- Maintain copies of conference paperwork electronically.
- Check and maintain due process paperwork for compliance.
- Complete records requests and mail in a timely fashion.
- Complete requests for records electronically.
- Enter and use E-School software to maintain student information.
- Process referrals to the Special Education Department.
- Main confidentiality and observe professional ethics.
- Maintain current teacher rosters and master lists for special education.
- Provide monthly computer print-outs for annual review, re-evaluations, and teacher rosters.
- Maintain current data on each special education student.
- Generate accurate information for completing special education reports, such as program summaries, December 1 Child Count, Annual Data Report, and other reports required by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor required due process folders and retrieve appropriate information from records as requested.
- Process and maintain information for preferrals; implement and maintain a tracking system for preschool transition students; and obtain records on transfers.
