Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for patients.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
- Take medical imaging such as X-rays and ensure proper documentation of results.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using Dentrix software.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in managing patient care before, during, and after procedures.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Support the administrative team with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling medical coding when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards within the dental clinic.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is a plus.
- Proficient in medical imaging techniques and understanding of basic medical documentation practices.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and provide compassionate patient care.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile working environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
