GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service to external members is to ensure each employee identifies members' financial needs and suggests appropriate Credit Union solutions. In addition, this position is responsible to ensure that Mortgage Loans are completed timely and accurately and within the time frames required by the Federal Regulations; ensure information is processed without jeopardy to data integrity, confidentiality, or accuracy.
1. Maintain knowledge of and remain current on mortgage lending compliance and regulations through continued education. Monitor, interpret, and communicate Lending Regulations, as they pertain to mortgage loans, to necessary personnel.2. Ensure that the department meets service goals as established by the Credit Union and Mortgage Department Management.3. Establish and maintain clear and efficient communication with all mortgage areas.4. Communicate with Mortgage Loan Originators, branch staff, and/or members on a daily basis regarding missing documentation.5. AVP Mortgage Processing will have decision making authority (as it relates to determining if the loan meets all required federal regulations and policy/procedure requirements) to determine if the loan can be closed. Review automated underwriting results to ensure accuracy and completeness.6. Demonstrate mastery and perform function of Mortgage Loan Processor for both mortgage and home equity loans as necessary (See respective job description).7. Train, coordinate tasks, and review work performed by Mortgage Loan Processors.8. Oversee the Mortgage Processing and Home Equity Processing areas.9. Ensure that all loan documents are completed timely and accurately and within the time frames set forth by AFCU and required by federal regulation. Continually look at ways to streamline the workflow.10. Responsible for determining if mortgage or home equity loans meet all established criteria as expressed in the loan review procedures and identifying any discrepancies. If loans do not meet established loan processing criteria, the resulting issues will be communicated to the mortgage underwriter for review and approval if appropriate.11. Provide workable recommendations and solutions to loan problems or difficult situations as well as be able to explain to staff and members. Work with other mortgage leadership to remedy the issues or determine viability of the loan.12. The AVP Mortgage Processing is in charge of submitting, reviewing, and correcting contracted 3rd party QC audits and reviews.13. Train mortgage and home equity processing staff on audit findings, regulation, policy, and procedure changes.14. Analyze and update Mortgage Lending procedures and processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.15. Schedule and conduct weekly "Pipeline" meetings with staff to review all active loan files in the processing pipeline. Particular emphasis to be placed on any problem files or issues that might affect the closing time of a loan. Ensure that staff is handling tasks appropriately and within established timelines.16. Provide processing updates to the other mortgage leadership through frequent correspondence and/or meetings.17. Develop an understanding of the Credit Union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures.18. Assist and participate in various department projects.19. Effectively and efficiently manage continuously changing priorities.20. Maintain a professional working environment.21. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent• 4-6 years related experience• 2 years management experience• OR equivalent combination of education and experience
