ARKANSAS SENTENCING COMMISSION DIRECTOR
The mission of the Department of Corrections is to be a public safety resource for Arkansas families by providing professional management solutions and evidence-based rehabilitative initiatives for offenders.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Director to lead the Arkansas Sentencing Commission. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of sentencing law in the state of Arkansas, as well as experience in coordinating proceedings of a board or commission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile reports on compliance with sentencing guidelines
- Collaborate with the Administrative Office of the Courts to implement an integrated Sentencing order
- Coordinate with Division of Correction and Division of Community Correction directors to develop intake processes
- Conduct continuing legal education regarding the sentencing guidelines
- Supervise office staff
Requirements:
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Arkansas
- Four (4) years of legal experience, including one (1) in criminal justice or a related field
- One (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience
- Must possess a valid Arkansas drivers license
