Position Objective :
The Controller is responsible for managing the Accounting Department, providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist senior management, ownership, and the board of directors in making educated economic decisions about the company's future. Directs and manages company fiscal records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and current IT trends and regulations, respectively.
Essential Functions :
Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, the consolidation of and distribution of internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets.
Develop a cash forecasting plan to enable growth in new markets and capital acquisitions.
Provides strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers, investments and / or other issues affecting the business.
Recommends and leads new efforts to improve ROE / ROA performance.
Works to optimize the handling of bank relationships and initiates needed strategies for improvement.
Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the accounting and information technology functions.
Aligns financial policies and procedures with company objectives.
Establishes financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements and to meet customer needs.
Recommends and develops policies, procedures and systems, in conjunction with the various operating groups within the company to meet company objectives.
Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data and enhance the company's value.
Assist the COO on a wide variety of special projects, compiling a variety of special reports to help increase company efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Position Requirements :
10 years of experience in progressing Accounting and Financial roles with 5 years of managerial experience in an organization of at least 50 employees or 6 years in a large accounting firm.
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Experience in a public accounting firm, a plus
Experience in a manufacturing setting a plus
