Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care within our clinic. You will assist ophthalmologists in various procedures, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of service and support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and have experience in a medical office setting, particularly within the optical field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures by preparing patients and equipment.
  • Conduct preliminary tests, including visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with medical billing and coding standards.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices and post-operative instructions.
  • Manage the flow of patients within the clinic to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care.

Experience

  • Previous experience in patient care within a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with optical systems and medical terminology is essential.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding practices is a plus.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are necessary for success in this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
