Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Patient Service Representative to join our front office team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a medical front office setting, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Athena EMR is helpful but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients warmly, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments while optimizing provider schedules.
- Answer phone calls, assist with patient inquiries, and relay messages to appropriate staff.
- Collect co-pays and process payments accurately.
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with prior authorizations as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Work collaboratively with providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical front office setting (required).
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (Athena experience preferred but not required).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-focused approach.
- Ability to multitask and remain professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate’s degree or healthcare-related certification (preferred).
