DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - MAJOR GIFTS
Reports To: Chief Development Officer
Location: Central Arkansas
Full-time, exempt, hybrid position (part home with equipment provided, office, and travel).
Salary Range: Starting salary begins at $45,000 and increases within a range, commensurate with experience.
Overview
Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) seeks a Development Officer with experience in major gifts activities to plan and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, organizations, private foundations, and businesses/corporations to support the ASPSF mission. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role oversees major giving initiatives, including direct mail, special events, giving societies, digital fundraising, and growth in mid-level donor giving. The Development Officer plays a key role in strategically expanding the organization's annual fundraising goals through active prospect and donor management as well as leadership giving groups. The Development Officer is an essential member of the development team.

Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) is a 501c3 charitable organization serving low-income single parents as they work to complete career-focused postsecondary credentials (degree or skilled trade) leading to sustainable employment with family-supporting wages and a better standard of living for the family.

- Financial Support (nontraditional scholarships, stipends, emergency funds).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in fundraising.
- Arkansas resident, preferably Central Arkansas area.
- Proven success in prospect research and cultivation.
- Skilled in collecting, organizing, and analyzing donor-giving data.
- Proficiency in donor database systems; experience with Bloomerang a plus.
- Exceptional organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach and willingness to take initiative.
- Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work independently.
- Able to take direction and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Capable of setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Positive and passionate about contributing to the organization’s mission.
- Extensive knowledge of fundraising methods and funding sources.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for external meetings.
- Some weekends and evenings may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the ASPSF Major Gifts program while working closely with the Chief Development Officer
- Responsible for gifts ranging from levels of $10,000 and above
- Meet or exceed annual budgetary goals for major gifts
- Prepare printed materials including presentation and solicitation materials
- Create and implement moves management plans
- Knowledgeable in wealth screening tools for prospect identification and donor cultivation
- Keep an active portfolio of no fewer than 100 potential or current donors
- Meet weekly, monthly, and annual metric goals
- Conduct direct, face-to-face solicitation meetings weekly
- Acknowledge major donors publicly and privately as appropriate
- Experience raising $750,000 or above in major gifts annually
- Serve as relationship manager with existing donors
- Experience in grant-writing exceeding $10,000
- Other duties as assigned
